“God’s Presence is Our Peace”

Judges 6:1-32

God’s Prophet (vs. 1-10)

The Midianites were kinfolk to Israel

They were Abraham-Keturah

They represented the world

Because God’s people disobeyed God, God allowed the Midianites in

It took them seven years to realize God’s presence was gone and something wrong

God sent a preacher to remind them that God was bigger & turn to Him

 

God’s Pick (vs. 11-18)

“Mighty man of valour”

Inside Gideon’s heart, he desired for God to do something; it was small but it was there

God is looking for one man to desire to God to do something

God offered His presence twice to get something accomplished vs. 12,16

God’s presence is all we need!

 

God’s Peace (vs. 19-24)

God’s presence is our peace!

Exodus 33:11-16

As God’s presence is in our life, it will separate us from the world

 

God’s Proving (vs. 25-32)

God gave instructions to throw down the alter of Baal and destroy the grove, then built and alter of the Lord in its place.

The men of the town came to investigate the matter and accuse Gideon. Gideon’s father said let Baal defend himself.
