The Bible is a spiritual book. For those that have spiritual discernment, they will be given understanding. Those without discernment will not understand. The parables are spoken not to hide the truth from those who desire to know, but to hide the truth from those who do not desire to know. People who are not saved or not right with the Lord have difficulty understanding the Bible.
