He did everything he could to keep the deputy from the faith
The judicial blindness
Paul calls this man out and tells him he is a child of the devil
God struck this man with blindness
The deputy received salvation

When God changes a name in the Bible it shows a turning point in their life
Abraham, Sarah, Jacob – all these came to a place of full surrender in their lives
As Paul completely emptied himself, God filled Paul with the Holy Spirit
Being Filled with the Holy Spirit is a Definite Experience
Luke 24:49 – Jesus told the disciples to wait until they received the Holy Spirit
Acts 19:2 – Paul asked a person if they were currently filled with the Holy Spirit expecting a “yes” or “no” answer
Being Filled with the Holy Spirit is Separate From His Regenerating Work

Being Filled with the Spirit is Always Connected with Testimony and Service
Being filled with the Holy Spirit is not for cleansing of sin

When this truth isn’t realized and people expect filling is for “preaching” then there is:
Disappointment
Presumption
Indifference
Jesus was filled with the Spirit and it was a Definite Experience

How to Be Filled with the Spirit
Repent – Acts 2:38
Renounce – Acts 2:38
Follow (or have followed) the Lord in Believer’s Baptism – Acts 2:38
Obedience (total surrender to the will of God) – Acts 5:32
If there is something you will not do, you can not be filled
Intense desire (includes having the right motive) – Luke 11:13
Ask for filling – Luke 11:13
Believe you received the promise – Mark 11:24
