{"id":514,"date":"2017-06-04T20:47:20","date_gmt":"2017-06-04T20:47:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.brnsermons.com\/scottybackhaus\/?post_type=ctc_sermon&#038;p=514"},"modified":"2017-06-13T20:50:26","modified_gmt":"2017-06-13T20:50:26","slug":"14-john-mark-the-recovered-backslider","status":"publish","type":"ctc_sermon","link":"https:\/\/brnsermons.com\/scottybackhaus\/sermons\/14-john-mark-the-recovered-backslider\/","title":{"rendered":"14 John Mark \u2013 The Recovered Backslider"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><em>John Mark \u2013 The Recovered Backslider <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Acts 15:36-40<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Acts 12:12<\/p>\n<p>The church was meeting for prayer to have Peter released from prison in his mother\u2019s home<\/p>\n<p>Peter probably led John Mark to the Lord, evidenced by Peter called him \u201cmy son\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Acts 12:25; 13:13<\/p>\n<p>John Mark was taken on Paul\u2019s first missionary journey by his uncle Barnabas<\/p>\n<p>As things begin to get a little rough, John Mark quit and headed back home.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In-between this time, John Mark went back to church and begin to get his soul back on fire for the Lord.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Acts 15:36-40<\/p>\n<p>Barnabas wanted to give John Mark a second chance, but Paul didn\u2019t want to take any chances with a quitter<\/p>\n<p>But God continued to work in John Mark\u2019s life. He traveled with his uncle and began to show faithfulness in the work of God.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In Colossians 4:10 we see that once again Mark with Paul and Paul endorsed his ministry<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>II Timothy 4:11 As Paul in imprisoned in Rome, he is alone with nobody else but Dr Luke at his side. He asks Timothy to come and bring Mark because he was profitable for Paul<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>1 Peter 5:13 We see that John Mark even traveled with Peter for a while to Babylon (Rome)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As John Mark is traveling with Peter, he was sure to ask Peter often what it was like to walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.
