{"id":484,"date":"2016-11-30T20:07:15","date_gmt":"2016-11-30T20:07:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.brnsermons.com\/scottybackhaus\/?post_type=ctc_sermon&#038;p=484"},"modified":"2017-06-13T20:08:57","modified_gmt":"2017-06-13T20:08:57","slug":"12-the-queen-sitting-by-him","status":"publish","type":"ctc_sermon","link":"https:\/\/brnsermons.com\/scottybackhaus\/sermons\/12-the-queen-sitting-by-him\/","title":{"rendered":"12 The Queen Sitting By Him"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><em>The Queen Sitting By Him<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><em>Nehemiah 2:1-8<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Identification of the Queen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Artaxerxes (Longimus) in this passage in the son of Xerxes found in Esther.<\/p>\n<p>In verse 6, many believe the queen mentioned here is the Queen Mother or Esther.<\/p>\n<p>That means at the least, Esther was the step-mother if not the biological mother of Artaxerxes<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Influence of the Queen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After the events of Esther, dealing with Purim, Haman and the official \u201ckill the Jew day\u201d, God raised Mordecai to the second place in the kingdom. (Esther 10)<\/p>\n<p>Esther also had a specific influence on the raising of Artaxerxes.<\/p>\n<p>Nehemiah was the king\u2019s cup bearer. This was one of the highest and closest positions to the king. He served almost as a royal advisor or sounding board. He was also had the specific job of tasting the food and drink to insure it was not poisoned.<\/p>\n<p>As Nehemiah was broken hearted over the current state of Jerusalem, it had showed in his duties.<\/p>\n<p>Jerusalem was burnt down with no walls protecting the city (Nehemiah 1:3)<\/p>\n<p>Much of the influence of Esther could be felt as the king was kind in granting the request to rebuild the walls of the city.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Queen Sitting By Him Nehemiah 2:1-8 The Identification of the Queen Artaxerxes (Longimus) in this passage in the son of Xerxes found in Esther.
