{"id":357,"date":"2016-05-01T23:00:57","date_gmt":"2016-05-01T23:00:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.brnsermons.com\/scottybackhaus\/?post_type=ctc_sermon&#038;p=357"},"modified":"2017-06-08T23:02:54","modified_gmt":"2017-06-08T23:02:54","slug":"14-pattern-of-sound-words","status":"publish","type":"ctc_sermon","link":"https:\/\/brnsermons.com\/scottybackhaus\/sermons\/14-pattern-of-sound-words\/","title":{"rendered":"14 Pattern of Sound Words"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><em>Pattern of Sound Words<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>II Timothy 1:13<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><em>Several Reasons why it is important to Use the Language of Scripture<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sound Words give health.<\/p>\n<p>Sound = health words<\/p>\n<p>If you are not sure how to express something, express it in God\u2019s words.<\/p>\n<p>How Does God\u2019s word express it?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Pure Doctrines of God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Bible is not found in the Bible, it is called God\u2019s Word<\/p>\n<p>Jesus never left heaven \u2013 He was God and omnipresent<\/p>\n<p>John 3:13<\/p>\n<p>Eternal security \u2013 Eternal Salvation<\/p>\n<p>Hebrews 5:9<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t use man\u2019s interpretation of God\u2019s Word, use God\u2019s Words<\/p>\n<p><strong>Authority of God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Man\u2019s words lack authority \u2013 God\u2019s words are filled with authority.<\/p>\n<p>People often need to take a strong stand and using God\u2019s word will help.<\/p>\n<p>Fornication is a strong word to use.<\/p>\n<p>John 4:16<\/p>\n<p>My way of stating it doesn\u2019t have the authority God\u2019s word has.<\/p>\n<p>Challenge \u2013 God\u2019s command<\/p>\n<p>God does command us and we need his word of absolute authority.<\/p>\n<p>Burnout \u2013 fainting (also a cure for fainting, no cure for burnout)<\/p>\n<p>Psalm 27:13<\/p>\n<p>Psalm 119:126<\/p>\n<p>A discouraged Christian is a bad example for the world.<\/p>\n<p>We need to be an encouragement of faith.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t throw out the baby with the bath water \u2013 The whole council of God<\/p>\n<p>Acts 20:27<\/p>\n<p>We need the whole council of God in our lives.<\/p>\n<p>We need to build our vocabulary in Bible language.<\/p>\n<p>We need to subtract man\u2019s words from our vocabulary.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pure Subjects of God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can not preach a scriptural sermon if you have an unscriptural subject.<\/p>\n<p>Christ is the answer \u2013 Christ is all<\/p>\n<p>Christ is not the answer to every question if you are asking the wrong question.<\/p>\n<p>Colossians 3:11<\/p>\n<p>People aren\u2019t hungry for Christ in the right way.<\/p>\n<p>Every truth of God supports every truth of God.<\/p>\n<p>If you turn away one truth of God you turn away every truth of God.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t use catchy titles, use Biblical titles.<\/p>\n<p>Titles show the preachers are clever, not scriptural.<\/p>\n<p>We should preach things that we have already gotten a blessing from.<\/p>\n<p>How to be happy \u2013 How to know God<\/p>\n<p>You become happy as you get to know God.<\/p>\n<p>The Bible doesn\u2019t teach us how to be happy, it teaches us how to be obedient.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t make a goal out of the big-product<\/p>\n<p>I Timothy 1:11<\/p>\n<p>\u201cblessed God\u201d \u201cHappy God\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Bible doesn\u2019t teach how to be successful \u2013 the Bible teaches how to obey<\/p>\n<p>Joshua 1:8<\/p>\n<p>The Bible does not tell you how to be successful; it tells you how to obey God.<\/p>\n<p>Success is a by-product<\/p>\n<p>\uf0a7Romans 12:2<\/p>\n<p>God\u2019s will is a better goal then success.<\/p>\n<p>We should want God glorified in our life.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Strong Convicting Power of God\u2019s Words<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is no convicting power in man\u2019s words.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t try to convict people of their sins, its God\u2019s job and His word<\/p>\n<p>You cannot convict people yourself, use the power of God\u2019s word.<\/p>\n<p>Alcoholism \u2013 Drunkard<\/p>\n<p>AA is a substitute for Christ.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing is pure gospel unless it is all about Christ.<\/p>\n<p>If it is a disease, there is no promise to overcome it.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes it\u2019s an addition to Christ.<\/p>\n<p>Telling Stories \u2013 telling lies<\/p>\n<p>A lie is never justifiable.<\/p>\n<p>A lie is a contradicting of the character of God.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLies\u201d is more powerful then \u201ctelling stories\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t expect people to be convicted of sin using your own words.<\/p>\n<p>Compromise \u2013 not found in the Bible (Disobedient)<\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t compromise you are simply disobedient.<\/p>\n<p>Problem \u2013 Abomination (Sin problem \u2013 Sin abomination)<\/p>\n<p>Christian Psychologist use the word problem more than the name of Christ.<\/p>\n<p>Many people portray Christ as the problem solver, He is not; He is the Saviour of sin.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Completeness of God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We need others to help give us understanding on God\u2019s word.<\/p>\n<p>This includes commentaries.<\/p>\n<p>Balance \u2013 Complete<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not balanced, it\u2019s a complete truth<\/p>\n<p>II Timothy 3:16-17<\/p>\n<p>The Lord Reigneth \u2013 Man is responsible<\/p>\n<p>Both are important, and the truth lies in full acceptance of both.<\/p>\n<p>Our completeness in his perfection.<\/p>\n<p>Our heart knowledge of the word of God is enough to make a man complete.<\/p>\n<p>If the Lord terries \u2013 If the Lord wills<\/p>\n<p>If the Lord terries is not found in the Bible<\/p>\n<p>The Lord may terry, but it\u2019s still not God\u2019s will.<\/p>\n<p>I Corinthian 4:19<\/p>\n<p>James 4:15<\/p>\n<p>Peter couldn\u2019t say if the Lord terry, because Jesus told Peter that Peter was going to die.\u00a0 Peter had to say if the Lord wills.<\/p>\n<p>Psalm 62:10<\/p>\n<p>Revelation 14:13<\/p>\n<p>This was more than dying for the Lord, they are dying in the Lord.<\/p>\n<p>You are on sure ground when you use Bible language.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Safe Guards of God\u2019s Words Against Dangerous Ideas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The false cults around the world uses non Biblical phraseology and people don\u2019t notice<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>S. Louis in Cases for Christianity never quoted scripture \u2013 Just Philosophy<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Was an Anglo \u2013 Catholic (Church of England)<\/p>\n<p>Low self-image \u2013 not looking to Jesus<\/p>\n<p>Hebrews 12:2<\/p>\n<p>When you look up to Jesus, you\u2019re looking away from something else.<\/p>\n<p>Sharing Christ \u2013 Preaching Christ.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pure Goals of God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That I may know Him.<\/p>\n<p>Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;<\/p>\n<p>The only goal is knowing Him, if we know Him we will make Him known<\/p>\n<p>Knowing yourself is a by-product of knowing Christ.<\/p>\n<p>Every course and everything we learn should be to make us know God better.<\/p>\n<p>Knowing God is making Him known.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKnow thy self\u201d \u2013 Socrates<\/p>\n<p>Did Socrates know himself?
