{"id":317,"date":"2016-03-09T22:20:02","date_gmt":"2016-03-09T22:20:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.brnsermons.com\/scottybackhaus\/?post_type=ctc_sermon&#038;p=317"},"modified":"2017-06-08T22:21:42","modified_gmt":"2017-06-08T22:21:42","slug":"11-timothy-investing-in-eternity","status":"publish","type":"ctc_sermon","link":"https:\/\/brnsermons.com\/scottybackhaus\/sermons\/11-timothy-investing-in-eternity\/","title":{"rendered":"11 Timothy \u2013 Investing in Eternity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><em>Timothy \u2013 Investing in Eternity<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Acts 16:1-3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Early Life<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Timothy mother was Jew and his father was a Greek.<\/p>\n<p>His father died early in life so he was raised by his mother Eunice and grandmother Lois.<\/p>\n<p>They took the time to teach him the scriptures and faith in God.<\/p>\n<p>Timothy was probably converted in Paul\u2019s first missionary journey at Lystra.<\/p>\n<p>By the time Paul came back to check on the churches, Timothy had developed a testimony for the Lord<\/p>\n<p>He followed in obedience to circumcision, not for salvation, but in order to be accepted by the Jews.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Discipleship by Paul<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>II Timothy 3:10-14<\/p>\n<p>Thou hast fully known<\/p>\n<p>Discipleship not only is developing the habit of obedience, but also includes pouring yourself into another person<\/p>\n<p>Vs. 14 Every Timothy has the responsibility to continue, because someone investing in him<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Following the Lord in Obedience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Philippians 2:19-22<\/p>\n<p>He truly became Paul\u2019s prot\u00e9g\u00e9<\/p>\n<p>He was likeminded<\/p>\n<p>He sought for the things of Christ<\/p>\n<p>There was proof of his faithfulness to God<\/p>\n<p>He was faithful to the authority in his life<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He was used as part of Paul\u2019s missionary team.
