After wearing it for a while and not washing it, God told Jeremiah to take the dirty linen girdle and bury it. After many days, Jeremiah then was told to dig it up and use the marred, useless dirty girdle as an object lesson to all Israel.<\/p>\n<p>The picture to be displayed: how dirty our sin makes us in God\u2019s eyes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Powerful Symbol<\/strong> vs. 8-11<\/p>\n<p>Vs. 11 God\u2019s intention was to have such a close relationship with His people, it would be like wearing an article of close intimate clothing.<\/p>\n<p>Vs. 10 Our sin continues to get us dirty, to the point where God doesn\u2019t want to be that close to us.<\/p>\n<p>What gets us dirty?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Refusing to obey the Bible<\/li>\n<li>Doing what <em>WE<\/em> want to do<\/li>\n<li>Serve false gods<\/li>\n<li>Giving our time attention and affection to things other then God.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Personal Solution<\/strong> vs. 12-27<\/p>\n<p>Vs. 15 \u2013 Lower your pride and obey the Lord<\/p>\n<p>Vs. 16 \u2013 Give glory to God<\/p>\n<p>Vs. 16 \u2013 Obey the light God has given you.<\/p>\n<p>Vs. 17 \u2013 Our sin breaks God\u2019s heart<\/p>\n<p>Vs. 27 \u2013 Be washed clean<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I John 1:9<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0Sign of the Linen Girdle Jeremiah 13 The Physical Sign vs. 1-7 Jeremiah was to take a linen girdle and wear it.
