Corinth
In the second missionary journey Paul started the church in Corinth. After a time he sent Titus to Corinth to check on the progress and work with the people. It was Titus who brought the epistle of I Corinthians to the church.
2 Corinthians 2:12-13 Paul had written a hard letter to the Corinthian church and when Titus didn’t immediately come back, he was worried. Paul traveled on but the church was on his mind.
II Corinthians 7:6 Titus finally did catch up to Paul and delivered the response to the first letter.
II Corinthians 8:16-24 Paul wrote II Corinthians and sent Titus back with the letter. Paul sent Luke and another Christian with him to keep Paul’s hands clean as the churches gave to the relief efforts to the poor in Jerusalem.
Titus was a man of integrity, discretion and zeal that he could be trusted not only with a church the needed help spiritually, but also with finances.
Crete
Titus 1:4-5 Paul sent his son in the faith to help set things in order on the island of Crete. Tradition states he labored many years in Crete and died at an advanced age.
