The Benefits of Training People for the Ministry
Acts 19
Paul spent two years in Ephesus teaching others from the school of one Tyrannus. As he taught men and women, then in turn sent others all over Asia Minor repeating the same things they had learned
By the time the two years was up, all of Asia had heard the word of Jesus
People Need to be Taught Doctrine 1-7
So many people are confused and blown with every wind of doctrine
People need to know what they believe and why they believe it.
Helps Us to Obey the Great Commission to Reach Every Creature vs. 8-12
God commanded us to preach the gospel to every creature. No one person can do it alone. We have to multiply for it to be done.
Helps People to Prepare for the Ministry vs. 13-16
The call to preach is a call to prepare
It is never wasted time to stop and sharpen your axe.
These 7 Jews went unprepared and tried to do the work of God in their own strength.
Helps Clean Out the Lives of Believers vs. 17-20
The people believed, seeing there is a true power of God.
Other church members saw the difference and cleaned house.
Biblical preaching will not allow people to sit on the fence. They will either turn things over and serve God or their constant state of conviction will drive them away from God.
It Affects the Community for God’s Glory vs. 21-41
The constant state of Biblical preaching, multiplying as more and more people were grounded in the word of God, emptied out the false temples and stopped the worship of false gods.
It cleared out so much that the local union of silversmiths banded together, complaining that their businesses were drying up because of these Christians.
Even they said (vs. 26) that almost throughout all Asia Paul had convinced the people that these false gods were false
