I Thessalonians 1
Paul is in Corinth when he wrote to the church at Thessalonica.
He was Thessalonica preaching for only 3 weeks.
As he moved on to the next couple of places, Paul sent Timothy to check on that church and report back because Paul was hindered from going back – I Thessalonians 3:2
The Purpose of Writing
He wanted to encourage the believers as they stood firm against intense persecution
The death of some of the church members brought questions in how they would participate in the coming of Christ
The Theme of the Book
The theme of the book is the Coming of Christ. Every chapter ends with the reminder that Christ is coming back
