Aquila and Priscilla

Introduction
*Strong churches are made of strong families.
From Athens. This couple lived in one of the most wicked cities in the Roman Empire
A neglected couple – “Not all will be famous – all may make a difference!”

Body
They served the Lord together – they are always listed together
They served where they were (vs. 3) –use your “occupation” when looking for divine appointments
They supported God’s man in his difficulty (vs. 12, 18) – “with him” (strong families = strong churches)
They were in the synagogue to hear the Word of God –vs. 26 (vs. 4, 7 –they had learned the importance of the Scriptures)
They took others and taught them what they had been taught – vs. 24-28 (children, younger couples)
They helped the preacher (Romans 16:3, 4)
They involved their whole “house” in the work of the local church (Romans 16:5; I Corinthians 16:19)
They tried to encourage others (I Corinthians 16:19 – “salute you much in the Lord”)
They finished right – II Timothy 4:19 (Contrast with Ananias and Sapphira)
