The Four Words Necessary for Salvation to be Available
Substitutionary Atonement
Jesus died in my place, as me, for my sins
Propitiation
When Jesus died, He appeased God’s wrath and satisfied the payment we owed God because of our sins.
Redemption
When Jesus died, He bought us with His blood
Reconciliation
Because of the shed blood, we now have access to the Father, through the Son.
The Court Room of Heaven
The Defendant
Me – I’m on trial for my sins
The Prosecutor
Satan – he accuses us before God
The Advocate – “Lawyer”
When we accept Jesus, He represents us before God the Judge
The Judge
God – Not only our Judge, but now our Heavenly Father (vs. 1)
