II Thessalonians – The Lord Jesus Shall be Revealed
II Thessalonians 1
Paul is in Corinth when he wrote to the church at Thessalonica.
He was Thessalonica preaching for only 3 weeks.
This letter was written only a couple of months after the first letter was written.
There was a wrong reaction to the first letter about the doctrine of the second coming of Christ.
People were selling their property and quitting their jobs and doing nothing while they waited for Jesus to come.
The result of it was many of the church members were without jobs and not doing anything, and expecting the church to take care of them.

This book covers the second phase of the Lord’s second coming.
The first phase the Lord will meet us in the air, the second phase the Lord will return visibly. Before that happens there will some events that must occur.
The antichrist must be revealed
The Holy Spirit is holding him back
Command – Chapter 3
Command is used four times:
- 4, 6, 10, 12
The results of not obeying the command is listed in vs. 14-15
The doctrine of the second coming of Christ should encourage us to work more and not less
