Acts 18:1-3

Introduction

*Strong churches are made of strong families.

From Athens. This couple lived in one of the most wicked cities in the Roman Empire

A neglected couple โ€“ โ€œNot all will be famous โ€“ all may make a difference!โ€

Body

They served the Lord together โ€“ they are always listed together

They served where they were (vs. 3) โ€“use your โ€œoccupationโ€ when looking for divine appointments

They supported Godโ€™s man in his difficulty (vs. 12, 18) โ€“ โ€œwith himโ€ (strong families = strong churches)

They were in the synagogue to hear the Word of God โ€“vs. 26 (vs. 4, 7 โ€“they had learned the importance of the Scriptures)

They took others and taught them what they had been taught โ€“ vs. 24-28 (children, younger couples)

They helped the preacher (Romans 16:3, 4)

They involved their whole โ€œhouseโ€ in the work of the local church (Romans 16:5; I Corinthians 16:19)

They tried to encourage others (I Corinthians 16:19 โ€“ โ€œsalute you much in the Lordโ€)

They finished right โ€“ II Timothy 4:19 (Contrast with Ananias and Sapphira)
