On the Road to Damascus
Acts 9:1-25
Conversion of the Sinner vs. 1-9
“This Way” was a term used for that early church referring to when Jesus said “I am the Way”
The Bible shows the special relationship to Christ and the church when Jesus told Saul that Saul was persecuting Jesus
Salvation is Christ revealing Himself to the sinner for salvation
Immediately Saul desired to be obedient
God did not reveal His plan to Saul at that time, but merely told him the next step, “go into the city”
Encouragement for the Saint vs. 10-19
God was leading Ananias by His Spirit to encourage Saul
The street called Straight is the actual real main street of Damascus that still exist today
“He prayeth” Saul is now truly praying
Saul had been without sight for three days and been left alone, when Ananias greeted him with the endearing term “brother”
He was encouraged by Ananias to follow the Lord in the next step and he was baptized
Afterwards he spent several days with the church, getting encouragement from them
Preaching of the Son of God vs. 20-22
The Jewish people did not know of Saul’s conversion, and welcomed him in the distinguished seat in the synagogues.
The Bible says he confounded the Jews PROVING this is very Christ
