Inerrancy of the Word of God
Ecclesiastes 3:14
Inerrancy means “being without error”.
The Bible is without error.
Psalm 119:89 Word is settled in heaven
Luke 24:27 Words will not pass away
John 10:35 Scripture cannot be broken
Matthew 5:18 Jot or title
Psalm 138:2 God’s word above His Name
Christ Shows the Old Testament is Factual History
Adam and Eve – Matthew 19:3-5; Mark 10:6-8
Noah’s Flood – Matthew 24:38-39; Luke 17:26-27
Destruction of Sodom and history of Lot – Matthew 10:15: Luke 17:28-29
Jonah swallowed by a great fish – Matthew 12:40
Historical people (in Matthew) – Isaiah (12:40); Elijah (17:11-13); Daniel (24:15), Abel (23:25), Zechariah (23:35), Abiathar (Mark 2:26), David (22:45), Moses (8:4), Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (8:11)
There are three false views of inerrancy that affect us
Infallible not Inerrant
Gets across God’s idea, but not His Words
Hell is not hell
Inerrant only in Salvation
Not inerrant in history
Not inerrant in science
Mistakes found throughout the Bible
Inerrant only in the King James
The King James Version corrects the original texts
If some of the Bible is wrong, how can you tell what is correct?
If the Bible is incorrect then God is a liar
