II Chronicles 33:1-13

The Abominations of the Heathen vs. 1-9

Manasseh father was godly King Hezekiah. However, instead of following in his godly footsteps Manasseh chose the abominations of the heathen.

He rebuilt altars and idols for the false gods that his father had tore down made Groves used for worship using sexual practices worshiped any and every God, he could and serve them.

On top of this, he brought the false idols into the house of the Lord.

To make things worse, he even sacrificed his children by causing them to pass through the fire. All of these things provoked the Lord toward anger.

 

Agreeing Not to Hearken vs. 10

Even though Manasseh did all of these abominations God was still not willing that he should perish, but desiring for him to be saved, God spoke to Manasseh and Manasseh rejected God’s word.

 

Affliction to Humble vs. 11-13

So God worked in Manasseh’s life and allowed him to be taken captive by the Assyrians while in the captivity of the Assyrians. He was under affliction and he use the knowledge that he had before to seek after God, he humbled himself, recognizing he needed God’s help when it Manasseh prayed towards God. God listened and saved him. Manasseh is in heaven today.

If God was willing to save Manasseh, He is willing to save anybody.
