Go and Cry Unto the Gods Which Ye Have Chosen

Judges 10

The Cycle Continues vs. 1-9

The cycles were as follows: the people turned away from God, God allowed oppressors to come, the people would cry for help, God would send a deliverer, there would be rest until the people turned away again.

The next judges were quickly named: Tola and Jair.

Once again the people turned against God to serve others gods and the Ammonites and Philistines took the land. The next couple of chapters deal with the Ammonite side of things.

The Lord’s Frustrated Message vs. 10-14

People have the wrong vision of God. Many see God has some grandfatherly figure in the sky that is there to help us when we have a need.

God is not our servant, we are His! He is the Master and the Creator! Here we a glimpse of the frustration of God when we continue to ignore Him to serve our own gods.

The People’s Response vs. 15-16

The people made a choice to turn from their gods and serve the Lord. They also began to wait and look for the deliverance of God.

Praise the Lord that at any time we repent He will not reject us.
